I loved the trip I took with my AGS Junior class to New Mexico. We travelled to Albuquerque, and also to a reservation to work with different children. The experience that impacted me the most was being able to work the elementary aged children on the Tohajilee reservation. Our time with them was so important to me, because I was able to work with kids (one of my favorite things) and learn about a new culture.
We also visited the Tent Rocks and Petroglyph Monument, and the town of Santa Fe. I loved our visit to the Tent Rocks. The hike we took was so beautiful, and the sights there were unlike anything I had ever seen before. The visit to Santa Fe was also really fun, I had been to Santa Fe before, but only when I was really young. I really liked having the opportunity to explore there. Santa Fe is really beautiful, and unlike any other town that I've visited before.
I felt that our trip to New Mexico was a huge success, and also a really important bonding experience for our AGS Junior class. I made a lot of new friendships on this trip, and learned a lot about Native American culture, that I would never would have known if I hadn't had this hands on experience. This was definitely one of the most unique and memorable trips I went on with AGS, and I felt that we got to do a lot of important service work.
